Karen is an excellent listener. Karen asks great questions that made me think outside the box sometimes. Karen is very approachable and has a wonderful way of relaxing people through obviously difficult times. I always looked forward to my appointments with Karen, knowing that I would come away with more clarity, and positive thoughts. Karen was able to challenge me to think differently about the issues that I was facing which has had a profound benefit both in my private and professional life.

Upon arriving I pretty much was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, in tears, she calmed me down and over the following months has changed my perspective on life. She's extremely easy to talk to, and not judgemental even when I failed at things. She's helped me work with people better and become a better person in myself too. I have so far to go in coming to terms with my mother passing but I know that throughout that, she'll be there for me. Previously I hated therapists, they weren't good, I found them obnoxious and unreliable. Karen has completely changed my perspective on that, although I'd not want someone else. We've covered self-esteem issues, aggression issues and so much more. I know by the end of this I'll be balanced and able to deal with anything. I look forward to seeing her every time, twice a week isn't enough, I'd love to see her more. If you need someone who cares, Karen is the person you want to see. I feel valued by her as a person. It's like I'm a rough rock, being polished into a diamond. Thanks Karen! You're great.

I didn't really believe that therapy was going to help me, having tried a number of times with other therapists over the years I had become convinced that it would not work for me. I got to a place of desperation and found again that the advice from the Dr was to talk to someone. I signed up to a first session with Karen convinced that I would have nothing to say and hate every moment. But I was wrong, it was the total opposite. I totally underestimated the power of a TrueType great therapist. Karen is helping me to turn my life around, and I think that is the really important thing; she helps ME to do it, she is not doing it for me. I think Karen might be one of the most important people I meet in my life and already I feel so grateful for the time we have worked together. Everyone would benefit from a Karen in their lives. We started with TA to help me manage my everyday stuff and now moving into counselling to help me deal with a bereavement.

What worked very well for me was how strongly academic and evidence-based Debbie was. The first session consisted of being handed at least 6 different self-assessment questionnaires and getting them as homework to fill out. Then the next few sessions was Debbie digging deeper into the results, asking me on details. She then used this to inform her sessions with me. I thought it was a very effective approach. Debbie is compassionate, mirthful and very quick to jump in and stop any self-hate or self-sabotage, reminding me to stop replaying that old VHS tape of negativity. I give credit to Debbie for taking my neurodiversity seriously and recommending me a colleague of hers to get an autism assessment. True to her nature, Debbie then included my assessment into her therapy. Debbie is great if you want a more academically rigorous approach to your therapy.

Debbie was great to speak to and not only listened but gave some very constructive input during my meetings with her. I found this especially helpful as I had been living under circumstances for so long that they had become ‘normalised' to me, but Debbie affirmed that this situation was definitely not normal. This helped me see more clearly and to be more decisive about myself and my life. Thank you, I would strongly recommend.
